New for Summer 2023
The Folly was originally built in 1745 as a small cottage and stables for 5 horses and two carriages. It was extended in 1820 in the architectural style of a ‘Folly’ with towers and castellations. This was a style that was popular at the time and that was principally aimed at showing off to the neighbours. Since then, it has been converted into a family home and is now a beautifully decorated and comfortable four-bedroom house, sleeping up to nine.
Indoor Living Space
There is a large open plan kitchen dining room that seats nine, along with a capacious double-height ceiling sitting room packed with artwork with a wide screen smart TV. Many original features remain including exposed wooden beams.
Sleeping Arrangements
Master bedroom with super king size bed, ensuite WC, freestanding bath and TV.
Tower Room - Double bedroom in the old hayloft
Two further ground floor bedrooms – a small double and a triple, served by a ground floor bathroom with rose head shower doubling up as a utility room with washing machine and dryer.
Outdoor Living Space
The Folly has stunning views and looks over a magical sunken garden that we call ‘The dell’, complete with an oval pool and grotto surrounded by mature trees. It is a magical scene, looking out you feel like you are in the treetops and can see all the way west to the sea at Snettisham on the horizon.
There is a small, terraced area to the rear with seating. Directly adjoining the kitchen is a private enclosed walled garden equipped with outdoor dining tables, barbecue and a hot tub.
Beyond this you will find a second walled flower garden where there is a trampoline and table tennis table as well as an outdoor fireplace and seating area.
Ideally suited to two families sharing or a group of friends, the Folly is a truly unique property and the perfect place for you to relax and unwind with easy access to all the Norfolk coast has to offer.
